General Characteristics: Chamaeleon Wash Primer is a chromate-free, acid-curing 2K-Primer designed for aluminum supports, offering active corrosion protection and excellent adhesion to iron. It can be applied in a three-layer system: Wash Primer, Filler, and Top Coat. The consumption rate is 8 - 10 m² per liter.
Technical Characteristics:
  • Color: Yellow-green transparent
  • Mixing Ratio: 2:1, with an option of 1:1 for large surfaces
  • Hardener: Specific hardener for Chamaeleon Wash Primer
  • Spraying Viscosity: 16 - 18 seconds at 20°C using a 4 mm DIN cup
  • Application: Air/Flowjar spray gun with 3 - 4 bar pressure, nozzle size 1.3 - 1.5 mm, 1 to 1 ½ spraying operations
  • Pot Life: 12 hours
  • Coat Thickness: 10 - 15 µm dry film
  • Curing Time: At 20°C, recoatable in 30 min to 8 hours, dust dry in 4 - 6 min, set to touch in 20 - 25 min
VOC Legislation: The EU limiting value for this product category is 780 g/l. This product contains a maximum of 704 g/l VOC.
Remarks: Adhesion to stainless steel should be tested first. The primer must be recoated within 8 hours and protected from humidity. Avoid storing in iron containers and do not use on thermoplastic or refinish with polyester.
Storage: The product can be stored for at least 2 years in tightly closed original containers.
