Since its formation in 1977, the Pauwels Contracting Division has grown to become an important business unit within the Pauwels Group. The company specializes in electrical turnkey projects, has a highly impressive list of references covering nearly 50 countries ranging from Australia to Zimbabwe and is familiar with international electrical standards worldwide. AIS and GIS substations > The Contracting Division is unquestionably a specialist in turnkey substation projects up to 500 kV. These projects are carried out for large industrial customers, as well as renowned electricity utilities. Mobile substations and mobile (Hybrid) transformers > Mobile substations are fully equipped electrical substa-tions mounted on semi-trailers. Rapid integration into the network and the ability to reuse them afterwards at other locations are the most important advantages of these mobile units. An additional advantage is that the erection and commissioning time of the substa- tion and civil construction works are reduced to a minimum. This is enabled by the mobile substations complete pre-assembly and testing at the factory. In close technical cooperation with universities and the groupҒs own product research centres for trans-formers and switchgear, optimal integrated designs for each specific application can be developed. The scope ranges from mobile transformers to complete mobile substations with a maximum voltage rating of 220 kV and a maximum size of 80 MVA. When space is at a premium, the Contracting Division provides compact substation solutions such as modular substations. The modular substation concept developed by the Contracting Division consists of three separate modules: high voltage equipment, power transformer and medium voltage equipment. Each module is mounted on skids. The modules are designed to allow easy transportation and quick installation times. They are pre-assembled at the Contracting Divisions facilities.
