Product catalog summary
Overview: The Emotron CDU/CDX 2.0 is a compact variable speed drive designed for efficient motor control. It offers flexibility in operation with different voltage levels and is suitable for both normal and heavy-duty applications.
Electrical Specifications: The drives are available for mains voltages of 400 V, 460 V, and 525 V. They support normal duty (120% overload for 1 minute every 10 minutes) and heavy duty (150% overload for 1 minute every 10 minutes). The maximum output current varies by model, with frame sizes B and C accommodating different power and current ratings.
Mechanical Specifications: The drives are housed in IP55 enclosures, ensuring protection against dust and water. Dimensions and weights vary by model, with frame size B models being smaller and lighter than frame size C models.
General Electrical Specifications: The drives operate within a mains voltage range of 380-480 V or 440-525 V, with a frequency range of 45 to 65 Hz. They offer high efficiency, with models 008 to 018 achieving 97% and models 026 to 046 achieving 98% efficiency.
Control Signal Inputs and Outputs: The drives support both analogue and digital control signals. Analogue inputs can handle 0 to ±10 V or 0-20 mA, while digital inputs and outputs operate at 0-8/24 VDC. Relay outputs are available for various control functions.
Operation at Higher Temperatures: The drives can operate at ambient temperatures up to 40°C, with derating possible for higher temperatures. A derating factor of 2.5% per °C is applied for temperatures above 40°C.
Switching Frequency: The standard switching frequency is 3 kHz, adjustable between 1.5 and 6 kHz for CDU models, allowing for noise reduction.
Environmental Conditions: The drives are designed to operate in non-condensing environments with relative humidity up to 90%. They are protected against vibrations and can operate at altitudes up to 4000 m with derating.
Installation Requirements: Proper fuses and cable cross-sections must be used according to local regulations. Cable glands are optional and should be checked before installation.
Contact Information: Emotron AB is based in Helsingborg, Sweden, and can be contacted via phone, fax, or email for further information.

Operation at higher temperatures Most Emotron variable speed drives are designed for operation at maximum of 40°C ambient temperature. However it is possible to use the VSD at higher temperatures with little loss in performance. Table 6 shows ambient temperature as well as derating for higher temperatures. Operation at higher switching frequency Only valid for CDU. Table 7 shows the switching frequency for the different VSD models. With the possibility of running at higher switching frequency you can reduce the noise level from the motor. Table 7 Ambient temperature and derating for 400 – 525V...
