Emotron AFE drives

Emotron AFE drives

Product catalog summary
Overview
Emotron AFE drives are designed to enhance cost-efficiency and reliability in industrial processes. They are available in two main versions: Low Harmonic Drives and Regenerative Drives, both based on standard Emotron AC drives. These drives are delivered as complete solutions in IP54 classified cabinets, ensuring easy setup and operation.
Trouble-Free Operation
Emotron AFE drives utilize advanced technology to produce low harmonic distortions, reducing power losses and optimizing the sizing of distribution transformers. They maintain a genuine unity power factor and offer reactive power compensation. The drives are resilient to voltage dips and harmonics from other equipment, ensuring uninterrupted operation.
Low Harmonic Drives
These drives are designed to meet the increasing demand for network-friendly electronic equipment. They produce less than 5% THDI, fulfilling the IEEE-519 standard, and reduce the need for over-dimensioning cables and transformers. This results in improved reliability and reduced investment costs.
Regenerative Drives
In addition to low harmonics, regenerative drives offer energy savings in applications with frequent braking. They allow for the recovery of braking energy back to the mains, saving energy costs and eliminating the need for brake resistors. These drives support four-quadrant operation, ensuring continuous full braking power.
Technical Data
The catalogue provides detailed specifications for Emotron VFXR (Regenerative Drives) and FDUL (Low Harmonic Drives) models, including motor power ratings at different voltages, dimensions, and weight. It also includes data for Emotron AFR (Regenerative DC-bus supply unit) models.
General Electrical Specifications
The drives support a wide range of mains voltages and frequencies, with high efficiency at nominal load. They are designed to operate with low harmonic distortion (<5%) and are assembled in IP54 cabinets.
Environmental Conditions
The drives are designed for operation in ambient temperatures of 0°C to 40°C, with derating options for higher temperatures. They are suitable for altitudes up to 1000m, with specific derating guidelines for higher altitudes.
Control Signal Specifications
The drives feature multiple control signal inputs and outputs, both analogue and digital, with detailed specifications on voltage, current, impedance, and accuracy.

Network friendly low harmonic drives The demand for network friendly electronic equipment is continuously increasing. Low harmonic drives are the answer to this challenge, improving reliability and reducing investment costs in applications such as pumps and fans in the mining, marine and process industries. Extremely low harmonic distortions Emotron Low harmonic drives produce typically less than THDI 5% compared to 30-50% in conventional drives, thereby fulfilling the IEEE-519 standard. Reduced power losses eliminate the need to overdimension cables and transformers. Lower distortions also cause...

Emotron AFE drives-4

Energy saving regenerative drives Emotron Regenerative drives, in addition to low harmonics, offer energy savings in applications with frequent braking, such as cranes, centrifuges, test benches, winders and ski lifts. They provide robust yet fast and smooth control, and allow uninterrupted power flow to and from the mains supply. Regenerative units can also be supplied as DC-bus feeder units. Regenerative braking Emotron Regenerative drives offer the option of feeding braking energy back to the mains instead of dissipating it via brake resistors. This will save considerable energy costs as well...
