Product catalog summary

Overview: The SmaRT PG-xH14 Pistol Grip Remote, developed by CERVIS, Inc., is designed for both traditional and non-traditional mobile applications. It facilitates single-handed operation and is capable of activating digital and proportional outputs of SmaRT base units using direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) wireless technology.

Features: The remote operates at 900MHz or 2.4GHz frequencies, offering license-free operation. It includes a comfortable, weatherproof pistol grip design, powered by four AA alkaline batteries, and features a dedicated M-Stop button, four status/diagnostic LEDs, glove-accessible switches, and four handle-embedded magnets. An umbilical connection option and J1939 CAN capability are also available.

Specifications:

  • Power: Operates on +3.0VDC nominal with a battery life of approximately 175 to 200 hours. It features a low voltage power down at 1.6 VDC and auto-power down after 10 minutes of inactivity.
  • Radio: Operates at frequencies of 906–924MHz and 2405–2480MHz with RF power of 10mW at 900MHz and 100mW at 2GHz. It uses DSSS modulation with an internal antenna.
  • Environment: Operating temperature ranges from -20°C to 55°C, with storage temperatures from -40°C to 55°C. It can handle 0 to 100% humidity.
  • Control Functions: Includes 7 switches with up to 14 functions, 1 proportional trigger controller, and 1 oversized stop. Indicators include TX, RX, Error, and Battery LEDs.
  • Enclosure: Dimensions are 230.59x133.93x146.92 mm, weighing 1.22kg. Made from high-impact polymer for durability.

Association Procedure: To associate the remote with a base unit, ensure both are powered down and have a clear line-of-sight. Follow the steps to activate the handheld, hold specific switches, power up the base unit, and complete the association when TX and RX LEDs blink.

Model Variants: The PG-xH14 family includes models with different frequency, RF power, umbilical, and display options. Custom configurations are available upon request.

Capable of activating digital and trigger-control-pulse-width-modulated proportional outputs of SmaRT base units, the PG-xH14 provides single-handed operation in a comfortable layout. Using direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) wireless technology at 900MHz or 2.4GHz, the SmaRT pistol grip remote provides a robust link with SmaRT base units in congested radio environments. The SmaRT PG-xH14 features seamless association to a SmaRT base unit without the need to open the case of either unit. The umbilical option allows a PG-xH14 remote to directly connect to base units. The rugged weatherproof Pistol Grip enclosure allows the unit to operate worry free in harsh weather conditions. Four handle-embedded magnets allow the remote to be securely attached to ferrous surfaces to help prevent misplacing the unit while not in use. Engineering SpecSheet Associate Mode All Cervis systems are associated (communications are pre-set) at the factory. However, a SmaRT PG-xH14 can be associated to a SmaRT base unit in the field when desired. To associate there must be a clear line-of-sight between the handheld and the base unit, and both units must be OFF (powered down). Do not operate the trigger while associating. 1. Stand near to the base unit in a clear direct line-of-sight with the handheld while both handheld and base unit are OFF. 2. Release the MACHINE STOP, move any momentary toggle up or down and then allow it to return...
