Accessories for Resilience test Hydraulic broaching machine Rev. 01-2023-EN Product Information The Broaching Machine is used to make high precision "U" or "V" notches of 2, 3 or 5 mm depth, on 55 x 10 x 10 mm specimens to be subsequently subjected to impact tests. By means of a suitable broach, as required by the EN and ASTM standards the machine can make KV, KU or KCU notches, necessary for the correct execution of the resilience test with the Charpy Pendulum. Working principle The broaching machine, by means of broach's cutting templates (to be ordered separately), engraves the material until the carving is completely performed on the specimen. The hydraulic unit, located at the bottom of the machine, drives the broach by pushing it vertically, while the specimen, clamped by a vice located on the base of the fixture, is notched. Depending on the type of broach used, U or V shaped notches and different depths (2 to 5 mm) are possible.
