Product catalog summary
Applications
The CEC 4-130/4-137 Vibration Transducers are designed for use in aircraft engines, industrial turbines, and test cells. They are particularly suited for high-temperature environments, such as turbine hot sections, where other instruments may fail.
Features
These transducers feature ceramic bearings that provide exceptional service life and a self-generated, high-level, low-impedance output. They can operate at temperatures up to +700°F (+371°C) and are designed to be simple and reliable, with low sensitivity to transverse accelerations and flexible mounting options.
Specifications
  • Sensitivity: Varies by model, measured at +77°F (+25°C) with a sinusoidal driving force at 100 Hz.
  • Dynamic Range: Frequency range from 45 Hz to 1500 Hz, amplitude up to 0.10 inch peak-to-peak, and acceleration from 1.0 g to 50 g peak.
  • Temperature Range: Model 4-130 operates from -65°F to +500°F, and model 4-137 from -65°F to +700°F.
  • Thermal Coefficient of Sensitivity: ±0.02%/°F from reference +77°F.
  • Weight: Triangular base is 2.5 oz. maximum, square base is 3.5 oz. maximum.
Performance
The transducers have a frequency response of ±6% through the specified range and maintain linearity with a sensitivity variation of no more than ±5% from the mean. They are self-generating with a coil resistance of 450 Ω ±25% and are hermetically sealed for durability.
Certifications
The transducers are ISO 9001:2000 and AS9100 certified, with hazardous approvals for North America (CSA C/US) and Europe (ATEX).
Optional Accessories
High-temperature cable and connector assemblies are available, with part numbers specified for ordering. Mating connectors and cable assemblies should be ordered separately.
Ordering Information
When ordering, specify the full part number and refer to Table 1 for configurations and sensitivities. CEC offers various configurations and sensitivities, and specifications may change without notice.

Vibration Transducer 4-130/4-137-1

4-130/4-137 Applications • Aircraft Engines • Industrial Turbines • Test Cells Features • Ceramic bearings provide exceptional service life • Self-generated, high level, low impedance output • Operates to +700°F (+371°C) Description CEC’s 4-130/4-137 Vibration Transducers offer a technology breakthrough in velocity output vibration transducer design. These transducers use a special advanced technology bearing system that extends their service life. Yet, this design preserves the simplicity and reliability that is typical of CEC’s self-generating, low impedence vibration transducers. We designed the 4-130/4-137 Vibration Transducers for turbine applications. Use them in hot sections where high temperatures cause problems with other instruments. They simplify your system because low impedence, high level output does not require special amplifiers or low-noise cables. They have low sensitivity to transverse accelerations, and you can mount them in any plane. Their rugged construction and new bearing system insure high reliability and long service life. These instruments are especially valuable where space is limited. They adapt easily to your installation because models are available in a variety of mounting configurations and sensitivities. CEC 4-130/4-137 Vibration Transducers use a seismic mass magnet that moves on special ceramic bearings. A coil is attached to the case, and movement between the magnet and coil produces the output signal when the case vibrates. This air damped system operates above its natural frequency so the mV output is proportional to velocity.
