Overview PowerRange HV is an innovative fast recovery system for cables that connect highvoltage (HV) shore power to ships, (typically RoRo, RoPax and naval vessels). The system performs rapid pay out and retrieval of power cables and HV plugs with a telescopic arm. The arm works as a linear dispenser for cables, and incorporates a robust column with lifting cylinders and an integrated cable reeling system. The extended boom moves with help of an electro-hydraulic power pack. Cables are reeled in and out with a rotating collector and a rotating monospiral drum. Installed on a frame that can be anchored to the ground using twist locks, (in a fixed location equipped with foundation block angles), the system can also be moved if required. The system is maneuvered using a robust, lightweight Cavotec push-button MC-2-5 radio remote control (RRC) unit.
