Rock Drill Specifications

Boom System

Power Unit
The drill is powered by a Tier III Cat® C9 engine, providing 224 kW (300 bhp) at 1,800 rpm. It features a fuel tank capacity of 492 l (130 gal), allowing for over 12 hours of operation.

Hydraulic and Cooling Systems
The hydraulic system includes a pressure-compensated load-sensed piston pump and a sealed hydraulic tank with a capacity of 405 l (107 gal). The cooling package is designed for ambient temperatures up to 52˚ C (125˚ F).

Operator's Cab
The cab is a larger version of the MD5050, featuring ROPS/FOPS, a noise level of less than 80 dB(A), and a total glass area of 3.07 m² (33 ft²). It includes heating and cooling systems, an adjustable seat, and an AM/FM stereo/CD.

Undercarriage
The undercarriage features Intertractor excavator track pads and chains, with a ground pressure of 0.82 bar (12 psi) and a maximum speed of 4 kph (2.5 mph). It has a gradeability of 35˚ and a ground clearance of 380 mm (15 in).

Controls and Safety Features
The drill includes armchair joystick controls, an electronic display for various parameters, and multiple shutdown features for safety, including low engine oil pressure and high compressor discharge temperature alerts.
