ATC Contactor-Based Automatic Transfer Switch

ATC Contactor-Based Automatic Transfer Switch

Product catalog summary
Features: The document describes the features of the Cat® Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), which includes microprocessor-based controllers (ATC-100, ATC-300+, ATC-800), voltage and frequency sensing, high withstand and closing ratings, and multiple field programmable set points. It also features status displays, source availability indication, and auxiliary contacts for Source 1 and 2.
Types of ATS: The document outlines two types of ATS: open and delayed transition contactor-based ATS, which allows for a momentary loss of power during transfer, and closed transition contactor-based ATS, which ensures no momentary loss of power by connecting both sources before transfer.
Options: Various options are available, including test switches, multi-meter options, delayed and closed transition, automatic or non-automatic operation, space heaters, surge suppression, remote communications, and load shedding from emergency.
Ratings: The ATS is available in wall mount (40-600A) and floor standing (600-1200A) configurations, with ratings up to 600 Vac, 50/60 Hz. It is UL 1008 listed and CSA certified.
Contact Composition: The ATS uses silver composition contacts designed to meet UL 1008 requirements, allowing for visual inspection without major disassembly.
Controls and Wiring: Control relays are encapsulated to minimize dust exposure, with lugs rated at 90ºC and control wire rated at 125°C.
Enclosure: The ATS is housed in a rugged steel NEMA 1, 3R, or 12 enclosure, qualified for Seismic Zone 4, with removable hinge pins for easy door removal.
Testing Standards: The ATS complies with various standards, including UL, CSA, IEEE, NEMA, and NFPA, ensuring safety and reliability.
Withstand and Close Ratings: The document provides detailed withstand and close ratings for different ampere ratings and configurations.
Dimensions and Weights: Detailed dimensions and weights for open, delayed, and closed transition contactor-based transfer switches are provided, with specifications for different ampere ratings and enclosure types.

ATC Contactor-Based Automatic Transfer Switch-1

CAT® ATC CONTACTOR-BASED AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCH Cat® transfer switches are designed for a variety of standby power applications. They provide flexibility, reliability and value in a compact package. The open and delayed transition contactor-based Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) provides fully functioning transfer in Applications where a momentary loss of power is acceptable d uring transfer and retransfers between normal and emergency power supply. The closed transition contactor-based ATS is designed to Meet application requirements where emergency back up power is required with no momentary loss of power by connecting both sources before the transfer occurs. Closed transition also permits periodic testing of the emergency power source without interrupting power to the loads. FEATURES • ATC-100, ATC-300+ or ATC-800 microprocessor-based controller • Voltage and frequency sensing • High withstand and closing ratings • Multiple field programmable set points • Status Display including switch position indication • Source availability indication • Source 1 and 2 auxiliary contacts True RMS voltage and frequency sensing Programmable plant exerciser System test pushbutton Mimic diagram Double-throw, mechanically interlocked transfer mechanism Switch position indication • Status display Double-throw UL 1008 3-position contactors
