SafeCoat DW 30

Product catalog summary
Description
Castrol SafeCoat DW 30 is a high-quality solvent-deposited corrosion preventive with excellent dewatering properties. It leaves an ultra-thin greasy protective film after the solvent evaporates.
Application
SafeCoat DW 30 is used to remove water from components after electroplating, machining with soluble cutting fluids, or washing. It provides medium-term corrosion protection during storage or transportation and can be used as a lubricant for mild press working. The most effective application method is immersion in a dip tank.
Advantages
  • Low aromatic solvent content (less than 0.5%).
  • Free from heavy metals like Barium.
  • Forms an even film and suppresses fingerprints.
  • Excellent water displacement and penetration.
  • Stable against acidic and alkaline contamination.
  • Long bath lifetimes and mild odor.
Characteristics
  • Appearance: Brown fluid
  • Relative Density @ 15°C: 800 kg/m³
  • Flash Point: > 61.5°C
  • Viscosity @ 20°C: Approx. 2 mm²/sec
  • Film Type: Ultra-thin, greasy
  • Total Film Forming Content: 8%
  • Film Thickness: 0.6 – 1.0 µm
  • Consumption: 0.8 – 1.0 kg/100 m²

CastrolSafeCoat > TM DW 30 is a high quality solvent deposited corrosion preventive with excellent dewatering properties. The solvent, after evaporation, leaves an ultra-thin greasy protective film. > SafeCoat DW 30 rapidly removes water from components subsequent to electroplating processes, after machining using soluble cutting fluids, or parts that have been washed. The very thin residual film provides effective mediumterm protection against corrosion during intermediate storage or transportation. SafeCoat DW 30 can also be used as a lubricant for mild press working, where corrosion protection without further treatment is required. AlthoughSafeCoat DW 30 can be applied by brushing or spraying, its dewatering action is most effective if the articles to be protected can be immersed in a dip tank. > ?
