PRESSURE REGULATORS SERIES 33

PRESSURE REGULATORS SERIES 33

Product catalog summary
Overview
Castel Series 33 pressure regulators are designed to maintain constant pressure in both low and high-pressure lines within air conditioning and refrigeration systems. They are compatible with HFC and HCFC refrigerants and are available in five types: capacity, crankcase, evaporating, condensing, and liquid receiver pressure regulators.
Benefits
  • Enable systems to operate under a wide range of loads.
  • Simple settings and low pressure drop.
  • Excellent sealing to prevent leakage.
  • Constructed with high-quality materials for durability.
  • Pressure intake for gauge connection available on certain models.
Series 3310 Capacity Regulator
Purpose: Regulates system capacity under reduced loads, reduces compressor start-up, and prevents low evaporation pressure.
Installation: Installed as a bypass between compressor discharge and suction line or between compressor discharge and expansion valve outlet.
Operating Principle: Opens as suction pressure decreases, regulating based on outgoing pressure.
Series 3320 Crankcase Pressure Regulator
Purpose: Maintains constant evaporation pressure, prevents freezing, and differentiates pressure for multiple evaporators.
Installation: Installed on the common suction pipe or downstream of the highest pressure evaporator.
Operating Principle: Opens when incoming pressure increases.
Series 3330 Evaporating Pressure Regulator
Purpose: Keeps condensation pressure constant, facilitates start-up in cold environments, and balances pressure during defrosting.
Installation: Installed at the condenser outlet or upstream of the condenser.
Operating Principle: Opens as condenser pressure exceeds the calibrated value.
Series 3340 Condensing Pressure Regulator
Purpose: Maintains constant receiver pressure in systems with heat recovery.
Installation: Installed as a bypass between compressor discharge and liquid receiver inlet.
Operating Principle: Opens when receiver pressure decreases.
Series 3350 Liquid Receiver Pressure Regulator
Purpose: Works with the condensing regulator to maintain receiver pressure.
Installation: Similar to Series 3340, focusing on maintaining pressure in the liquid receiver.

PRESSURE REGULATORS SERIES 33-3

SERIES 3310 CAPACITY REGULATOR OPERATING PRINCIPLE Regulates system capacity with reduced loads. Reduces compressor start-up. Prevents excessively low evaporation pressure The capacity regulator opens as suction pressure decreases. Regulation depends on outgoing pressure only. The regulator is installed as a bypass between compressor discharge and suction line. The regulator opens as evaporation pressure decreases. Note: there must be a liquid injection valve for desuperheating suction line gas. The regulator may also be installed as a bypass between compressor discharge and the expansion valve...

SERIES 3320 CRANKCASE PRESSURE REGULATOR PURPOSE OPERATING PRINCIPLE Prevents excessively high suction pressure during start-up and therefore overloading of the compressor motor. Limits compressor suction pressure after defrosting. e regulator opens as regulator output pressure (suction pressure) decreases. Installation Refrigerating systems for applications with low evaporation temperatures. e regulator is installed on the suction pipe upstream of the compressor. e regulator opens when suction pressure drops below the calibrated value. PRESSURE REGULATORS SERIES 33-5

SERIES 3330 EVAPORATING PRESSURE REGULATOR PURPOSE OPERATING PRINCIPLE Keeps evaporation pressure and therefore evaporator surface pressure constant. Prevents excessively low evaporation pressures and therefore the risk danger of freezing in air evaporators. Dierentiates evaporation pressure for multiple evaporators in systems with a single compressor. e regulator is installed on the suction line, and opens when incoming pressure increases, that is, when evaporator pressure exceeds the calibrated value. Installation (1) Refrigerating systems with a single compressor serving multiple evaporators...

SERIES 3340 CONDENSING PRESSURE REGULATOR PURPOSE OPERATING PRINCIPLE To keep condensation pressure constant in the air condenser in the presence of low ambient temperatures. In a refrigerating system with an air condenser installed in a very cold environment, facilitates start-up after a long shutdown.Permits heat recovery. Balances pressure in systems with automatic defrosting. e regulator opens as pressure increases at the valve inlet, that is, when condenser pressure exceeds the calibrated value. Installation (1) Installation (2) Refrigerating systems with air condensers. e regulator is installed...
