The Magnum series gear pumps and motors are designed with modularity and versatility, offering displacements from 1.05 in³/rev to 7.66 in³/rev. They support maximum continuous pressure up to 4060 psi and peak pressure up to 4640 psi, with a maximum operational speed of 3000 min-1. These pumps are suitable for heavy-duty applications, featuring options for integrated outboard bearings and various port locations.
General Data:
The pumps and motors are external gear types with SAE mounting flanges, supporting anti-clockwise, clockwise, and reversible rotation. They are compatible with mineral oil-based hydraulic fluids and fire-resistant fluids, with specified fluid temperature ranges and viscosity requirements. Filtration requirements are also detailed.
Performance Curves:
Performance curves are provided to illustrate the relationship between pressure, speed, and efficiency, aiding in the selection of appropriate pumps or motors for specific applications.
Dimensions:
Dimensions for single and multiple units are detailed, including drive shafts, mounting flanges, and ports, which are crucial for installation and integration into existing systems.
Instructions and Ordering:
Instructions for changing rotation and ordering are included, allowing users to customize and maintain their equipment effectively.
Specifications:
Different hydraulic system versions are outlined, specifying torque capacities and load conditions. For example, the HD.30 and HD.35 models have maximum torque capacities of 170 Nm and 350 Nm, respectively.
Procedures:
Detailed instructions for changing pump and motor rotation are provided, including disassembly and reassembly steps. Installation guidelines emphasize alignment, flexible couplings, and proper tank capacity to prevent overheating.
Standards and Compatibility:
SAE standards for mounting flanges and drive shafts are referenced, ensuring compatibility across models. Compatibility tables for drive shaft and flange combinations are included.
Recommendations:
Recommendations include using specific hydraulic fluids, maintaining clean systems, and performing regular maintenance checks. The use of filters is emphasized to maintain fluid cleanliness.
Key Data from Tables and Diagrams:
Diagrams show life expectancy for outboard bearings under specified conditions. Torque values and port sizes are detailed for different configurations, with specific tightening torques provided.
Ordering Information:
Instructions for ordering single units include consulting compatibility tables and specifying pump type, rotation, version, drive shaft code, seals, and port codes.
Ordering Instructions for Double and Triple Pumps:
Details on position codes, mounting flange codes, rotation options, combinations, seals, and drive shaft codes are provided. Compatibility tables should be consulted before ordering multiple units.
Example of Multiple Pumps Order:
An example order for a triple pump configuration is provided, illustrating the specification of common inlets and section codes.

MAGNUM series pumps can be coupled together in combination. Where input power requirement of each element varies, that with the greater requirement must be at the drive shaft end, and progressively smaller to the rear. Features and performances are the same as the corresponding single pumps, but pressures must be limited by the transmissible torque of the drive and connecting shafts. To have appropriate data, use the formula below. The maximum rotational speed is that of the lowest rated speed of the single units incorporated. Available with separated inlet, common inlet and separated stages. Combination...

If we suppose that we have to work with the first pump at a pressure of 2900 psi (200 bar) and the second pump at a pressure of 2175 psi (150 bar), the graph 1 shows that the torque absorbed by hDp35»80 is 2523 lbf in (285 Nm) and the graph 2 shows that the torque absorbed by HDP30»27 is 620 lbf in (70 Nm) acceptable value because it doesn’t exceed the maximum connecting shaft torque that is 1505 lbf in (170 Nm), see page 27 The torque...
