It is compatible with weak acids and alkalis, water, steam and solvents. Avoid sulphuric and nitric acids and strong alkalis. This braided packing is manufactured with synthetic phenolic yarns. These fibres show the mechanical strength of the aramidic fiber and the chemical inertia and low friction factor almost like the PTFE fibres.
