Product catalog summary
Functional Features and Applications
FILTRY dirt filters are designed for permanent use in refrigerant filtering, protecting regulation and expansion elements in refrigeration and air conditioning systems. They are particularly suitable for commercial refrigeration applications with significant liquid line lengths. The filters are compatible with HFCs, HCFCs, CFCs, and their associated oils and additives, designed for non-hazardous refrigerants from group 2 of PED 97/23/EC.
Technical Specifications
The filters are made of die-cast brass with brazed connections, featuring a filtration area of 16 cm² that prevents particles larger than 150 microns from propagating within the circuit. They have a net weight of 0.30 kg and can be supplied with a 50-micron filtrating sleeve upon request. The stainless steel filtrating sleeve is removable for cleaning without de-brazing connections, saving time during maintenance. The product is compact for easy assembly and can be supplied with a moisture indicator.
Installation and Maintenance Procedures
FILTRY filters should be mounted on the liquid line between the receiver and the expansion element, following the refrigerant flow direction indicated on the filter case. The filtrating sleeve and O-ring must be removed before brazing. After brazing, the O-ring should be replaced once the temperature is sufficiently low, and the plug should be screwed back with a recommended torque of 15 N.m. The PTFE O-ring must be replaced after each plug removal. Filters should not be installed in isolated circuit areas or where refrigerant can be trapped in liquid state. Horizontal mounting with the access plug oriented downwards is preferred.
Recommendations and Precautions
Proper selection of solenoid valves downstream of the filters is crucial to avoid liquid hammer phenomena, which can affect the filters' mechanical behavior. General assembly precautions should be referred to in chapter 115.
Weights and Packaging
The unit weight of FILTRY 3 S & MMS, FILTRY 4 S & MMS, and FILTRY 5 S & MMS is 0.31 kg with packaging and 0.30 kg without. Spare parts include PTFE O-ring gaskets, filtrating sleeves of 50 and 150 microns, standard fastening plugs, and glass with or without moisture indicators.
