Ball valves

Product catalog summary
Functional Features and Applications
Ball valves VBCY are designed for secure and airtight fastening in refrigerating and air conditioning installations. They are compatible with various refrigerants including HFCs, HCFCs, and CFCs, and are suitable for non-hazardous refrigerants from group 2 of PED 97/23/EC. The valves offer integral flow with no pressure drop and can be installed in any position. They feature stainless steel balls with pressure equalization holes and are available in brass and steel models with anticorrosive protection.

Technical Features of Brass Ball Valves
Brass ball valves can be mounted on suction, discharge, liquid, and oil lines without removal during brazing, which must be done in the open position. Intermediate positions of the inspection rod are forbidden to maintain air-tightness. Recommended tightening torques for gland nut gaskets are specified for different models.

Technical Features of Steel Ball Valves
Steel ball valves are available in various sizes with specific dimensions and net weights. They are designed for high durability and performance in refrigeration systems.

Technical Specifications
The valves have a maximal working pressure of 35 bar and a working temperature range from -40°C to 120°C. They are classified according to PED 97/23/EC based on nominal diameter.

Spare Parts
Various spare parts are available for the VBCY series, including plugs and gaskets for inspection rod plugs, with specific part numbers for different models and manufacturing years.

61.1 n Functional features n CARLY advantages Ball valves VBCY n Applications • Secure and airtight fastening of refrigerating and air conditioning installation line. C o Products are compatible with HFCs, HCFCs, CFCs, as well as with their associated oils and additives. Products are designed for use of non-hazardous refrigerants from group 2 of PED 97/23/EC. o Product classification in CE categories is performed using the PED 97/23/EC table, corresponding to a nominal diameter-based selection. o Integral flow with no pressure drop, with slight diameter restrictions for some models (refer to the technical features table on pages 61.2 and 61.3). o Bi-flow ball valves that can be installed in all positions. o Stainless steel balls, with a hole for pressure equalization. o 11 models with die-cast brass body (from 1/4” to 7/8” and from 6 to 22 mm). o 10 models with lined steel body (from 1” 1/8 to 3” 1/8 and from 28 to 80 mm) and with anticorrosive protection varnish. o Quick quarter turn opening and closing, with built-in rotation limiter. o Reinforced air-tightness of the inspection rod with two Neoprene® O-rings for the brass valves and a PTFE gland nut for the steel valves. o Internal air-tightness performed by two PTFE double reach seats, set in the centre of the valve body. o Flat area at the base of the control connection, that allows full safety loosening of the protection plug. o Protection plug with PTFE gasket and a safety orifice to prevent accidental ejection. o GOST certified products.
