Electrastar-1

ElectraStar Trailer Mounted Controller for Electric Brakes Developed for Horse Trailers, Boat Trailers, RVs, Car Haulers, or any trailer with electric brakes. • Unit installs on trailer with minimal wiring required • No installation required in tow vehicle • Meets or exceeds DOT regulations for brake actuators • Available with or without cab controller Description The Carlisle ElectraStar uses an on-board microprocessor and accelerometer to sense the amount of braking effort being generated by the tow vehicle. It then adjusts its output and pressure to the brakes, to provide a smooth, safe stop. Because the ElectraStar is mounted on the trailer it requires no wiring or installation modifications to the towing vehicle. Any appropriate tow vehicle can be used to tow a trailer equiped with the ElectraStar. The hand held actuator controller plugs into the cigarette lighter and sends signals through existing vehicle wiring to the actuator, providing adjustments to match load and road conditions. To tow the trailer with a different, appropriate tow vehicle, all you have to do is unplug the controller from one vehicle and plug it into the other. Any tow vehicle appropriate for the load you're towing can be used with any trailer equipped with the ElectraStar. The ElectraStar is powered by a trailer mounted battery. And, the battery is charged at all times, thanks to the battery charger built into the actuator. Power for the built-in battery charger is drawn from the tow vehicle's running light circuit. Therefore, the tow vehicle's running lights need to be on whenever the trailer is being towed. Ease of Installation • Trailer mounted installation - unit installs by splicing into the running lights, left and right turn signals, and ground circuits on the trailer electrical system. • In-cab control plugs into the cigarette lighter of the tow vehicle - no additional wiring required. Control can be shared by multiple vehicles that tow the same trailer.
