Product catalog summary
Electromagnetic Disc Brakes HPSX Series Overview
The HPSX series of electromagnetic disc brakes are designed for precision braking and positioning of rotating machine parts. These brakes are spring-actuated and released electromagnetically using direct current, suitable for emergency stops and minimizing run-on times to meet safety standards. They can be powered from standard AC sources via a rectifier, offering quiet operation, high repeatability, and adjustable braking torque.

Specifications
Models range from HPSX06 to HPSX25, with braking torques between 7 Nm and 800 Nm. They support DC supply voltages of 24V, 104V, 180V, and 207V, with a maximum speed of 3000 min-1 and an operating temperature range of -25°C to +40°C.

Electrical Equipment
The brakes use modules from simple circuits to complex assemblies. Rectifiers like B2-1P, B5-1P, and B2-2P convert AC to DC, with input voltages up to 600VAC. PS-1 and PS-2 circuits utilize MOSFET technology for efficient operation.

Control and Signaling Circuits
Microswitches monitor brake engagement and wear, with the KZ switch checking brake state and the KO switch indicating disc wear, ensuring safety and reliability.

Protective Circuits
Thermal protection is provided by PTC thermistors or bimetallic sensors to prevent overheating, triggering a relay if temperatures exceed set thresholds.

Installation and Maintenance
Designed for easy installation and maintenance, the brakes offer various fittings and accessories for different conditions and requirements.

Temperature Control and Protection
Sensors monitor brake system operation for safety, with a thermal switch indicating excessive temperatures, alerting control equipment or disconnecting the brake circuit.

Bimetallic Thermal Protection
Denoted by 'B', this feature provides additional thermal protection.

Auxiliary Circuits - Anti-Condensation Heaters
These heaters prevent vapor condensation inside the brake, useful in cold or humid environments, powered by a dedicated wire pair with specified voltage.

Mechanical Specifications
Includes various mechanical sizes and configurations, such as sleeve gear diameters and nominal braking torque, with options for manual release levers and mounting flanges.

Execution Options
Customers can request non-standard features like specific sleeve gear diameters, heating elements, low-temperature operation, and thermal protections. Microswitches for monitoring engagement and lining control are available.

Example Configurations
Details of different models with specific voltages, torques, and additional features are provided.

Operating Voltage
The brakes operate at DC voltages of 24, 104, 180, and 207 V.

Protection Rating
Protection ratings range from basic versions to IP56, with various sealing options.

Product Development
The producer reserves the right to modify the product, with special versions available upon request.

“r Mounting flange | Lever for manual release | Brake cover ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT A number of modules, ranging from simple circuits with classic designs, to complex assemblies ensuring quick action and drives positioning have been designed to drive the brakes. Relevant brake applications with switching in the primary or secondary circuits are ensured by half- or full-wave rectifiers and fast electronic circuits. The manufacturer recommends to use as low alternating current voltages as possible to supply the brakes. Appropriate choice of the control voltage will prevent or at least limit surges...

Rectifier B2-2P The B2-2P rectifiers series forms a complete full-wave rectifier unit for direct installation. The terminal strip provided facilitates installation and connection to the circuit. The rectifier allows feeding input voltage max. 400VAC, 2A which after rectification provides DC voltage of value equal to 0,9 input voltage. Rectifier B2-2P cooperates with brakes HPSX06 + HPSX25. For example Maximum input voltage (alternating voltage) - Uin = 230VAC, The resulting output voltage of the rectifier (direct voltage) - 0,9Uin= 0,9 x 230=207VDC Rectifiers dimensions B2-1P-600, B5-1P-600 Disconnection...

Circuit PS-1 is built on the basis of MOSFET type semiconductor technique which enabled achieving effects not available in traditional designs. The brake electromagnet energized through circuit of this construction enables the brake to achieve connection and disconnection time parameters analogous to breaking of circuit on direct current side. The parameters obtained are not however gained through utilization of additional electrical circuits and switches. Simplicity of installation and parameters achieved enable very wide application, particularly in cases requiring positioning of drives, operation with...

Having in mind the user who requires the control of the brake, we have designed special signaling and control circuits, which enable to control the state of the brake (engaged, disengaged) and the wear of the plate lining. The usage of these circuits enables to control the brake with the use of automatic elements, which ensure high level of safety and reliability. Due to its compact design, the microswitch can be used in any other applications, as long as its parameters meet design requirements. Response monitoring microswitch - KZ - control of the state of brake (engaged, disengaged), Microswitch...
