OVERHEAD LINE FAULT DETECTION - SENTINEL
The SENTINEL Fault Detector range is designed for medium voltage (MV) overhead networks and is installed on line support poles. It can detect faults such as single-phase grounded faults and multiple-phase fugitive and ongoing faults. The detectors provide quick identification of faulty network sections by indicating ongoing faults and counting all events.
There are two versions available: Directional and Amperemetric, depending on the grounding of the neutral conductor. A self-powered version with photovoltaic panels is also available. Each detector includes:
- A two-colour indicator for ongoing faults
- Relay outputs for signalling fugitive and ongoing faults or detector failures
- Magnetic and electric field sensors within the housing
- Optional display for fault type and count
- Optional radio remote control for remote consultation and configuration
The SENTINEL Fault Detectors reduce the time needed to locate faulty network sections with indicator lights. They prevent equipment stress from repeated resets and offer a complete range adaptable to all neutral states and voltage levels. An optional remote control facilitates configuration and viewing when the installation is not easily accessible. Low flow communication options include Sigfox and LoraWan.
The detectors are suitable for public distribution networks and private substations.
