RÆVO UHF Radio Data Transmission Module The RÆVO radio apparatus is a radio modem that operates in the UHF range, responding to the current regula ons in force. The RÆVO radio modem is designed to be employed in the crea on of networks distributed throughout the territory and can be used as a terminal, a repeater or a radio panel. The opera ng mode of the single radio modem can be configured both with pairs of frequencies (Tx/Rx) and with a single frequency, in the UHF band. Radio modems are suited to the crea on of Point-to-Point and Point-to-Mul point connec ons, even with very complex networks. RÆVO is a product with very low power consump on, especially designed for use in environmental monitoring and warning systems, where the mains power supply is not always available. As such, the radio is developed to ensure func onality even when powered by a solar panel and buffer ba ery. The RÆVO facilitates interfacing with external devices via 3 ports: Ÿ The connec on to the antenna is via a female BNC connector (50W). The radio implements modula ons with a bit rate of 9600 b/s and 14400 b/s, availing of a Forward Error Correc on (FEC), a mechanism for the detec on and subsequent correc on of errors. The RÆVO radiomodem is a CAETech product and, as such, is capable of interac ng with various devices and applica ons, such as commercial dataloggers with standard interfaces, and user or third-party applica ons. Indeed, the radio is able to transport standard protocols: UDP/IP over Ethernet and serial ports (PPP) or Modbus RTU on Serial ports. RÆVO is  compa ble  with  widely used SATEL  radios,  such  as  SATELLINE-M3-TR4, -EASy, -Easy Pro  and  SATELEASy+, and also with other manufacturers’ radio protocols. As per all CAEtech products, it implements Zero Breakdown Technology logic, hence it is also configurable for sending diagnos c informa on to the opera ons hub.
