DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATION Safety extra-low voltage cables used in petroleum and petrochemical units, particularly for the transmission of AC or DC analogue signals. Unarmoured cables are used when there is no risk of mechanical damage (control room for example) Sheaths are resistant to aliphatic hydrocarbons CONSTRUCTION • Conductors: Solid (Class1) / stranded (Class2) annealed Copper, acc. to IEC 60228. • Insulation: 90° PVC. • Cabling elements: Pairs or Triads (Quad configuration for 2-pair cable). • Core Identification: Natural / Red / Blue / Yellow. Numbered on Natural conductor. • Core. Units are assembled together spirally in concentric layers. • Core wrapping. PETP tape. Minimum 30% overlap. • Collective screen. Tinned cooper drain wire under and in contact with aluminium/PETP 12/23 laminated tape applied metallic side down. • Outer Sheath: PVC resistant to aliphatic hydrocarbons.
