Telecommunications Cable DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATION Cables with 7 to 114 star quads (14 to 228 pairs), conductors of 0.63 and 0.9 mm, cellular PE insulation. Quads are stranded into layers to form the core which is protected by a moisture barrier sheath. They are used as primary cables in distribution networks inside ducts. CONSTRUCTION • Conductors: Annealed Cooper of 0.63 and 0.90 mm nominal diameter. • Insulation: Cellular polyethylene. • Cabling elements: Star quads. • Core: Stranded into layers in alternate directions. • Core wrapping. Paper tape, longitudinally applied with overlap. • Cable screen. Polyethylene coated aluminium tape longitudinally applied with overlap and bonded to the external PE sheath. • Sheath: UV resistant black PE. • Sheath marking : The outer sheath shall be marked in white ink, at regular intervals, with the following information: o Name of manufacturer/ Year/ Length marks o Other type of marks according to the costumer ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS (20°C) Conductor Resistance (Q/km) Minimum insulation resistance (MQxkm, 500 Vcc) Mutual capacitance (nF/km, 800 Hz) • Minimum • Maximum Capacitance Unbalance.
