Product catalog summary
Overview: The Builtrite Auto Dismantling System is engineered for efficient dismantling of automobiles, focusing on the extraction of valuable alloys before preparing the vehicles for crushing or shredding. It is optimized for use with 18-22 metric ton excavators equipped with a two-speed travel circuit.
Specifications: The system includes Hold Down Arms mounted on the excavator's main frame, featuring large bore, high-pressure cylinders for securing and crushing vehicles. The Auto Dismantling Grapple offers a wide opening and 360° continuous rotation, enhancing maneuverability for precise operations such as engine and component removal. Constructed from high tensile steel with abrasion-resistant materials, it ensures durability and minimal maintenance.
Key Features:
  • 360° heavy-duty rotation with a turntable bearing and high torque motor.
  • High tensile steel construction with abrasion-resistant tine tips.
  • Oversized, hardened cylinder and pivot pins.
  • High-pressure cylinders and accessible grease zerks.
Installation and Customization: Each system is custom-designed to fit specific excavator models, requiring welding of the hold-down arms bracket to the base machine's undercarriage. Installation can be performed at the factory or in the field, depending on customer preference and capabilities.
Hydraulic Requirements: The system requires specific hydraulic flow and pressure settings for optimal operation:
  • Grapple Open/Close: Max Flow 20 GPM / 76 LPM, Max Pressure 3000 PSI / 207 Bar.
  • Rotation: Max Flow 6 GPM / 23 LPM, Max Pressure 1750 PSI / 121 Bar.
  • Hold Down Arms: Operate on the travel circuit with flow up to 5000 PSI / 345 Bar.
Model Specifications: The ADG 20T model weighs 2,200 lbs (1,000 kg) with specific dimensions for height, jaw depth, and width at full close and open positions, ensuring compatibility with various dismantling tasks.

Auto Dismantler-1

Scrap Attachments Auto Dismantler The BuiltriteTM, Auto Dismantling System is designed to quickly and efficiently dismantle autos, removing valuable alloys and then readying them for a car crusher or shredder. This system is recommended for 18-22 metric ton excavators with at least a two speed travel circuit. The Hold Down Arms are mounted directly to the excavator’s main frame and include a pair of large bore, high pressure cylinders, capable of applying enough force to crush and hold the auto in place. They operate off of the undercarriage drive circuit. A selector valve is supplied with the unit and is actuated by using the high speed travel shift. If the excavator does not have at least a two speed circuit, then we can supply an optional, radio remote/battery pack that shifts the valve. The Auto Dismantling Grapple features a wide opening and 360° continuous rotation, providing the operator the necessary dexterity to perform even the most precise maneuvers, making easy and quick work of pulling engines, radiators, wiring harnesses, heater cores, etc. Made from highly durable material, this tool is designed for long life and minimal maintenance. Key features include: • 360°, heavy duty rotation using a turntable bearing, hydraulic swivel and high torque motor. • High tensile steel used throughout. Abrasion resistant material and hard facing used on the tine tips. • Oversized, hardened cylinder and pivot pins. • High pressure cylinders. • Easily accessible, yet well protected grease zerks.
