Product catalog summary
Customer Benefit
The Web 750 sp is an advanced vacuum coating system designed for sputter deposition of thin films on metal webs, particularly for the photovoltaic industry. It features a unique web winding and transport system that prevents mechanical contact with the coated surface, ensuring the integrity of sensitive surfaces. The system allows for loading and unloading of web coils without breaking the vacuum, thanks to special valves separating the web handling chamber from the coating sections. It supports simultaneous operation of different processes through efficient gas separation.

Applications
The system is ideal for high-rate sputter coating on metal webs like stainless steel or copper, meeting the needs for coating sensitive surfaces. It is particularly suitable for photovoltaic applications, such as depositing transparent front contacts or metallization.

Web Handling Section
The central web handling module facilitates loading and unloading, with winder and unwinder coils mounted on a movable cart. The system supports protective interleaf usage and employs a servo drive system with four independent motors for controlled tension. In-situ measurement equipment can be installed for online process control.

Coating Rolls
Each coating chamber includes a coating roll with features such as a polished hard surface, electrical insulation, and the ability to be cooled or heated. Protection shields prevent coating of the rolls themselves.

Process Section I
This section is used for pre-treatment and RF sputtering with up to six planar RF magnetrons. The equipment is mounted on a motor-driven door flange for easy maintenance, remaining connected to power, cooling, and gas supplies.

Process Section II
This section supports DC or pulsed DC sputtering with up to ten rotary cylindrical magnetrons and post-treatment processes. Similar to Section I, it features a motor-driven door flange for convenient service.

Process Control
The system ensures reproducible coating properties through control of plasma parameters and thin film properties like thickness and conductivity. An optical online monitor is available for transparent coatings, and film composition can be analyzed using X-ray fluorescence.

Technical Parameters
The system offers a coating speed of up to 3 m/min, a quality coating width of 500 mm (extendable to 1500 mm), and a machine downtime of approximately 2 hours for web exchange. It features a single-sided web handling system, up to ten magnetrons per chamber, and a dry vacuum pumping system.

Contact Information
Contact details for Leybold Optics offices in various countries, including China, France, Germany, UK, Italy, Japan, Korea, Spain, Taiwan, and the USA, are provided for further inquiries.

Process Control Control of the process parameters in the Web 750 sp is performed in order to achieve reproducible coating properties. The control of plasma parameters and thin film properties like thickness and conductivity can be implemented. For transparent coatings on metallic web an optical online monitor is available. An especially designed sensor head allows specular and non-specular reflection to be measured. From the VIS- NIR reflection data film thickness and conductivity of TCOs can be extracted. Composition of the deposited film can be analyzed using X-ray fluorescence. Technical Parameters...
