Product catalog summary
Introduction
BRUSH combined cooled generators are widely used in steam turbine power generation. These machines benefit from BRUSH's extensive experience and modern design techniques, ensuring they meet the demanding requirements of turbine manufacturers while offering competitive pricing and delivery.

Stator
The stator frame is a robust structure made from mild steel, designed to handle mechanical stresses and withstand hydrogen coolant explosions. The core is constructed from high silicon content electrical steel, with radial ventilation ducts and a resin-rich mica glass tape insulation system capable of operating at high temperatures. The stator winding uses Roebel bars to minimize eddy current losses.

Rotor
The rotor is crafted from nickel chromium molybdenum alloy steel, featuring high conductivity copper/silver alloy windings. It is designed to withstand high mechanical forces and is tested for overspeed in BRUSH's facilities.

Bearings
Typically, the main bearings are hydrodynamic elliptical bearings, with other profiles available for specific applications. Thrust bearings are provided as needed.

Cooling
The generators use a closed circuit cooling system with hydrogen and water. The stator winding is cooled with chemically pure water, while the rest of the machine is cooled with pressurized hydrogen. This efficient cooling system maximizes material utilization.

Auxiliaries
The gas supply system is customizable and includes equipment for hydrogen coolant maintenance. The sealing oil system maintains oil pressure in shaft seals, and the cooling water is purified by an ion filter.

Excitation System
Generators are equipped with either a static excitation system or a shaft-mounted a.c. exciter. Both systems ensure reliable operation and fast voltage regulation.

Features
BRUSH turbogenerators are lightweight, factory-tested, adaptable to any turbine design, compliant with international standards, and offer low ventilation losses and extended insulation life.

Combined Cooled Turbogenerators-3

The rotor of a combined cooled BRUSH turbogenerator is manufactured from a one-piece forging of nickel chromium molybdenum alloy steel, which is de-gassed and vacuum-poured to obtain a uniform material which has excellent tensile properties. Axial slots, to carry the windings and for ventilation, are milled on the periphery of the body of the rotor. The rotor winding is made of high conductivity copper/silver alloy hollow conductors. The pre-formed coils are inserted into the slots, each turn being insulated from the next. The class ‘F’ insulation system is moisture resistant, shockproof and...
