Product catalog summary
Introduction
BRUSH combined cooled generators are widely used in steam turbine power generation, leveraging over 120 years of electrical experience. These generators are known for their ability to meet demanding turbine manufacturer requirements, competitive pricing, and efficient delivery.

Stator
The stator frame is a robust structure made from mild steel, designed to handle mechanical stresses and potential hydrogen coolant explosions. It features a core made from high silicon content electrical steel, with radial ventilation ducts and a two-layer diamond type winding using Roebel bars to minimize eddy current losses. The insulation system is resin-rich mica glass tape, capable of operating at high temperatures.

Rotor
The rotor is crafted from nickel chromium molybdenum alloy steel, featuring high conductivity copper/silver alloy windings. It is designed to withstand high mechanical forces and is tested for overspeed in a dedicated facility.

Bearings
Typically, the generators use fixed profile, white metal lined, hydrodynamic elliptical bearings, with options for tilting pad bearings and thrust bearings as needed.

Cooling
Cooling is achieved through a closed circuit system using hydrogen and water. The stator winding is directly water-cooled, while the rest of the machine uses pressurized hydrogen. The cooling system is designed for uniform temperature distribution.

Auxiliaries
The gas supply system is customizable for specific power station layouts, including hydrogen drying and air scavenging. The sealing oil system maintains oil pressure in shaft seals, and the cooling water is purified by an ion filter.

Excitation System
Generators are equipped with either a static excitation system or a shaft-mounted a.c. exciter with a static thyristor system, both digitally controlled for reliable operation and fast voltage regulation.

Features
Key features include reduced weight of active components, full factory testing, adaptability to any turbine design, compliance with international standards, low ventilation losses, and extended insulation life.

COMBINED (HYDROGEN & WATER) COOLED 2-POLE TURBOGENERATORS-3

Rotor The rotor of a combined cooled BRUSH turbogenerator is manufactured from a one-piece forging of nickel chromium molybdenum alloy steel, which is de-gassed and vacuum-poured to obtain a uniform material which has excellent tensile properties. Axial slots, to carry the windings and for ventilation, are milled on the periphery of the body of the rotor. Rotor of a 220MW generator. The rotor winding is made of high conductivity copper/silver alloy hollow conductors. The pre-formed coils are inserted into the slots, each turn being insulated from the next. The class ‘F’ insulation system is moisture...
