AdvancedReal3DRotationUnit

AdvancedReal3DRotationUnit

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document discusses the Real3D measurement technology by Alicona, which allows users to measure surfaces from multiple perspectives and merge them into a comprehensive 3D dataset. This technology is particularly useful for measuring form and roughness with high precision and repeatability.
Measurement Capabilities: Real3D enables visualization and measurement of surface features such as flank angles, thread pitch, and undercuts. It offers two main options: the Advanced Real3D Rotation Unit with motorized tilt and rotation axes, and the Real3D Rotation Unit with motorized rotation and manual tilt axis. Both are suitable for full form measurement of round tools, with the advanced version also supporting automatic measurement of cutting dies and micro holes.
Compatibility and Adaptability: Both units are compatible with various clamping systems, allowing for precise and rapid interaction between processing and measurement. Adapters enable 360° rotation and measurement of components without rotational symmetry.
Specifications:
  • Advanced Real3D Rotation Unit: Features motorized 360° rotation and tilt axis (-15° to +90°), with a maximum torque of 0.5 Nm for rotation and 2.5 Nm for tilt. It supports clamping systems like three-jaw lever scroll chuck, 3R-SP26771 MacroHP, and EROWA ITS Chuck 100P, with a clamping repeatability of 2 µm.
  • Real3D Rotation Unit: Offers motorized 360° rotation and manual tilt axis (-15° to +90°, locking every 5°), with a maximum torque of 0.1 Nm for rotation. Compatible with three-jaw lever scroll chuck and ER16 collet chuck.
Measurement Object Specifications:
  • Advanced Unit: Supports a maximum weight of 4 kg, clamping diameter of 2 mm - 71 mm, and a maximum length of 268 mm.
  • Standard Unit: Supports a maximum weight of 0.5 kg, clamping diameter of 0.5 mm - 40 mm, and a maximum length of 150 mm.
Limitations: The parameters may be limited depending on the geometry of the specimen.

AdvancedReal3DRotationUnit-1

Real3D How to measure undercuts In combination with Real3D, users measure surfaces from numerous perspectives. Components are measured in 3D from various perspectives and then automatically merged into a full 3D dataset. High-precision and calibrated rotation and tilt axes ensure automated, repeatable and traceable measurement of form and roughness on the whole measurement object. Users are able to visualize and measure surface features such as diverse flank angles, thread pitch and undercuts. Alicona offers several options for Real3D measurements. The Advanced Real3D Rotation Unit is equipped with a motorized tilt axis and motorized rotation axes, whereas the Real3D Rotation Unit is based on motorized rotation axes and a manual tilt axis. Both models are used for full form measurement of typically round tools. The fully motorized version can additionally be applied for the automatic measurement of cutting dies, micro hole measurement and Reverse Engineering. Further, users are able to measure trail and main edges of their drill, cutting miller etc. in only one measurement circle. The compatibility of both units with a number of clamping systems allows for precise and rapid interaction between processing and measurement. In addition, various adapters enable 360° rotation and components without rotational symmetry.
