Product catalog summary
Introduction
The Shockmaster® is a mechanical device designed to monitor excessive shock and vibration in delicate equipment. It is ISO9001:2000 compliant and manufactured by Helena Works in London. The device helps detect hidden damage during shipping by indicating if excessive shock has occurred.

Specifications
The Shockmaster® consists of a spring-loaded weight with an integral trigger and a spring-loaded sleeve, all enclosed in a metal housing with a transparent dome. It is reusable, with a G-rating that remains in tolerance indefinitely unless subjected to continuous motion or contamination. The device can be reset and reused multiple times without altering its G-rating.

Functionality
The Shockmaster® operates by exposing a red warning band when a shock of sufficient magnitude occurs. It has a hemispheric response, indicating shocks from all radial directions and axial shocks from beneath. It does not register axial shocks applied from above.

Accuracy and Settings
Standard models trip within ±10% of their settings, with options for ±5% tolerance at an extra cost. They operate in temperatures from –800°F to 160°F and are resistant to high humidity. Available G-ratings range from 5 to 50 G's, with custom settings available upon request.

Installation and Use
Shockmasters® can be mounted inside containers or on packaged items. They are available in various configurations for different mounting and response needs. The device can be inspected without opening the container using a removable cover or electrical contacts.

Tamper-Proof Features
The device is tamper-proof, with options to seal the resetting holes using safety wire and inspector's seals. This ensures the integrity of the indicator after it has been tripped.

Applications
Shockmasters® help reduce shipping and handling costs by detecting rough handling, aiding in packaging design, and reducing inspection time. They are also useful for shock tests to determine proper packaging materials.

Testing and Response
Testing for conformance with specifications must follow AGM's test specifications. The response to shock varies with the duration and direction of the shock, with graphs available to approximate the required excess G's for short-duration shocks.

Ordering Information
Part numbers consist of basic numbers followed by dash numbers indicating configuration, nominal G-rating, and certified tolerance. Various models are available for different mounting and response needs.

? WHAT IS THE SHOCKMASTERS > ή AREA OFRESPONSE? Shockmaster > is a low cost, compact mechanicaldevice which may be installed on delicate equipment to monitor excessive shock and vibration, thereby assisting inthe detection of hidden damage. When a container isopened, following shipment, there may appear to be no damage. However, if the Shockmaster The Shockmaster > ή has a hemispheric response: itindicates shocks from all directions radial to the unit, axial shocks to the base from beneath, and shocks from alldirections between these planes (see Figure 2). It will notregister axial shocks applied...
