ACTIVATED CLAY BAGS - DESI PAK

ACTIVATED CLAY BAGS - DESI PAK

Product catalog summary
Product Overview: Desi Pak® activated clay bags are designed to exceed the moisture vapor adsorption requirements of MIL-D-3464E, outperforming silica gel at U.S. government specification levels. The bentonite clay used is a naturally occurring mineral, making it more economical than chemically synthesized adsorbents like silica gel or molecular sieves.
Performance: At 20% relative humidity (RH), Desi Pak® adsorbs 50% more moisture than required by MIL-P-116-E, compared to silica gel's 3.5% excess adsorption over MIL-D-3464E requirements. The performance curve of Desi Pak® surpasses both U.S. military specifications and silica gel performance curves.
Packaging Standards: Desi Pak® complies with Method II Packaging Standards in MIL-P-116-E, which involves sealing items in waterproof and moisture vapor-proof containers with desiccants to prevent rust, mildew, or corrosion. This method maintains humidity below 40% RH for up to 12 months.
Product Specifications: The document lists various Desi Pak® unit sizes, their nominal clay weight, dimensions, and quantity per box. For example, the SUDB001603 model is a 1/6 U size bag weighing 5.5 grams with dimensions of 60 x 60 mm, available in boxes of 2000 units.

ACTIVATED CLAY BAGS - DESI PAK-1

PRODUCT INFORMATION ACTIVATED CLAY BAGS - DESI PAK® Dimensions Width x Length (mm) Nominal Weight of Clay (grams) Desi Pak unit bags exceed the requirements of MIL-D-3464E in actual performance and will exceed the ® moisture vapour adsorption of silica gel at U.S. government specification levels. Desi Pak bentonite clay is a naturally occurring mineral as opposed to a chemically synthesized adsorbent. Therefore it is more ® economical than silica gel or molecular sieves. Desi Pak performance curve exceeds both U.S. military specification, which is the industry standard, and the silica gel performance curve for these same specifications. ® At 20% RH, Desi Pak will adsorb 50% more moisture than required by MIL-P-116-E, whereas silica gel will only adsorb 3.5% more moisture than required by MIL-D-3464E. ® Desi Pak meets Method II Packaging Standards in MIL-P-116-E, which covers the basic requirements of military packaging methods of preservations. This involves packaging an item inside a sealed waterproof and moisture vapour-proof container with the inclusion of a desiccant to prevent rust, mildew or corrosion damage. In Method II packaging, the package is maintained at a safe humidity below 40% RH during the normal storage period of 12 months.
