Ultrasonic Technologies Ultrasonic Slitter Model F-20 GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Branson Model F-20 Ultrasonic Slitter is designed for continuous slitting and edge sealing thermoplastic films, knitted, woven and nonwoven materials such as nylon, polyester, polypropylene, modified acrylics, some vinyls, urethane, and synthetic blends. The ultrasonic slitting process prevents unraveling of knitted or woven material by sealing the slit edge with vibratory energy. The Model F-20 operates with 2000bdc Series power supplies, converter, booster, carbide-faced horn, and a spring-on-air mounted cutting anvil. The unit is readily installed on materials handling devices such as looms, winders and unwinders or re-rolls, and can be adapted for traverse slitting. A slitter capsule assembly is available for custom installations when the slitter is part of an automated setup. The capsule assembly incorporates the air cylinder, springs, anvil mount, and associated hardware. (Horn, booster, anvil, and cooling requirements are determined by the application.) KEY FEATURES: • Slitting rates of 30 to 400 linear feet (9 to 120 m) per minute, depending on material and desired results. • Sealed edge is tapered with no bead to add bulk to slit material. • Spring-on-air anvil mounting prolongs tool life; horn/anvil contact points are renewable through rotation. • Integral cooling for converter and horn. • Power supply compatibility – The Model F-20 Slitter is compatible with Branson Model 2000bdc ultrasonic power supplies. Note: the converter warranty covers a one-time replacement within three years. These warranties apply to equipment purchased in the United States.
