Installing the Oil Cooler The oil cooler should be fitted into the coolant circuit between the bottom tank of the radiator and the coolant inlet connection on the engine. See illustration opposite. The radii of the coolant pipe bends should be as large as possible to reduce the pressure drop. Note: to maximise heat transfer, the oil pipe connections must be installed for ‘counter flow’ .
