'C' Coat 300 End Covers

Product catalog summary
Product Description:
'C' Coat 300 is a durable surface coating designed to protect cast iron components from corrosive elements such as sea water, chemicals, and mineral-rich water. It serves as a cost-effective alternative to traditional materials like Naval Brass.
Applications:
This coating is primarily used in sea water applications and is developed in collaboration with a leading surface coating technology company. It is a heavy fusion bonded, pinhole-free epoxy coating that prevents chemical attacks and reduces the risk of galvanic reactions between dissimilar materials, which can cause corrosion in heat exchangers.
Specifications:
  • Chemical Resistance: Very good
  • Solvent Resistance: Unlimited (DIN 50021)
  • Corrosion Resistance: Very good
  • Water Absorption: Nil
  • Wear Resistance: Very good
  • Flammability: Does not support combustion
  • Temperature Resistance: -40 to +70º C, thermoplastic behavior
  • Heat Conductivity: Good
  • Fatigue Resistance: Good
  • Resistance to Water Diffusion: Nil diffusion
  • Electrical Resistance: Electrical insulator
  • Friction, Static: Low friction coating
  • Release Properties: Fair non-stick performance

Product Bulletin ‘C’ Coat 300 End Covers Description ‘C’ Coat 300 is a highly durable surface coating designed to protect components manufactured from cast iron from the corrosive attack of sea water, chemicals or mineral rich water, thus providing a more cost effective alternative to traditional materials, such as Naval Brass. Application Developed primarily for use in sea water applications and in conjunction with one of the world leaders in surface coating technology, ‘C’ Coat 300 is a heavy fusion bonded, pinhole free epoxy coating, that is impervious to chemical attack. ‘C’ Coat 300 provides a highly durable solution that helps prevent the risk of galvanic reaction between dissimilar materials - a common cause of corrosion inside the heat exchanger – plus sea water erosion of the end cover internal surface. Heat exchangers fitted with ‘C’ Coat 300 end covers have the same maximum operating pressure and temperatures as the traditional units. Specification Chemical resistance: Very good Solvent resistance: Corrosion resistance: Very good Water absorption: Wear resistance: Very good Does not support combustion Temperature resistance: Heat conductivity: Fatigue resistance: Resistance to water diffusion: Electrical resistance: Electrical insulator Friction, static: Classed as a low friction coating Release properties: Fair non-stick performance Surface roughness: Does not creep under load Coating thickness: EJ Bowman (Birmingham) Ltd Chester Street, Birmingham B6 4AP, UK Tel: +44 (0) 121 359 5401 Fax: +44 (0) 121 359 7495 Email: [email protected] www.ejbowman.co.uk A Range ‘C’ Coat 300 finished end covers are supplied as standard on the FG, GL, JK and PK ranges of swimming pool heat exchangers. Additionally, ‘C’ Coat 300 end covers are available as an alternative to Naval Brass on the GL, GK, JK, PK, RK, GH plus JH and PH (3 pass and 1 pass) ranges of marine heat exchangers and oil coolers.
