Enhanced Data Acquisition System

Enhanced Data Acquisition System

Product catalog summary
Introduction
EDAS (Enhanced Data Acquisition System) is a versatile multi-channel data logger primarily used for structural monitoring. It is designed for continuous monitoring of crack evolution and displacement in buildings and monuments, and is also applicable in hydrogeological and environmental fields.

Specifications
The basic version of EDAS is available with 8 or 16 channels, expandable by connecting multiple units via RS485 to create a network of up to 255 loggers over a distance of 2 km, or by adding multiplexing modules within the same unit.

Connectivity and Power
The system can be operated locally via a PC with a USB port or remotely using GSM/GPRS modems. A wireless version is also available. Power options include replaceable lithium batteries, a 12 Vcc source from a photovoltaic panel, or 220V mains.

Software and Data Management
The SGA control software allows users to configure acquisition strategies, set time, modes, and alarm thresholds, and export data in CSV format. Data can be retrieved on-site or remotely, and a web-monitoring service is available for automatic data transmission to an FTP area accessible via user ID and password.

Figures
Figures included in the document illustrate the standard 8-channel and expanded 32-channel versions of EDAS, as well as the SGRA software interface.

Enhanced Data Acquisition System-1

EDAS (ENHANCED DATA ACQUSITION SYSTEM) eDAS is a versatile multi-channel data logger mostly used for structural monitoring, particularly for the continuous control of the evolution of cracks and any displacement of buildings and monuments. Yet it is also suitable to record data from different kind of sensors (including vibrating wire type) in hydrogeological, environmental and many other field applications. The basic version of the logger is available with 8 or 16 channels, which can be easily increased: • either connecting a number of units among them via a RS485 us in order to make a larger network with up to 255 loggers distant up to 2 km • or expanding one basic unit with as many additional multiplexing modules as requested The system is run locally through a Pc with a USB port or remotely via GSM / GPRS modems. It is also possible to have a wireless version with relevant interface accessories. eDAS is powered by replaceable lithium batteries or by a 12 Vcc source derived from a photovoltaic The SGA control software, supplied with the unit, allows the user to set the different acquisition strategies, by programming the time, modes and alarm tresholds most suitable to the specific application, as well as to export the recorded data in CSV format. Logged readings can be retrieved directly on site or, if wished and implemented, from a remote office. One more extraordinary opportunity not requesting any interrogation of the logger to obtain data stored in eDAS memory, is the web- monitoring service, where measurements are automatically transmitted to an FTP area, which can accessed at any time from any internet computer only through a user id and a password. * Specifications and standards subject to changes without prior notice. sistemi integrati per la diagnostica e il monitoraggio Boviars.r.L www.boviar.biz
