Product catalog summary
Overview: The Forced Convection Cooling (FCC) mechanism is designed to optimize the cooling of moulds on the blow side in glass manufacturing. It features a butterfly valve controlled by machine timing, ensuring consistent performance regardless of cooling air pressure.
Specifications:
  • The mechanism operates with a double action pneumatic actuator at a standard low pressure of 2.1 bar (30 PSI).
  • Response time from fully closed to fully opened is approximately 40 ms, which is 50% faster than previous models.
  • The air-section area has been increased by 20% to enhance air cooling flow.
  • Quick conversion from DG to TG is facilitated by replacing the top plate and internal vacuum piping.
Features:
  • Internal vacuum piping is removable for faster maintenance.
  • Designed with a quick change concept for ease of use.
  • Lateral inlet allows operating air from the section box directly.
Advantages:
  • Enables faster and more even cooling, allowing for higher machine speeds.
  • Simple maintenance and retrofittable to existing IS machines without requiring modifications to the section frame.
  • Existing moulds do not need replacement.

HOLLOW GLASS FORCED CONVECTION COOLING MECHANISM The FCC (Forced Convection Cooling) mechanism optimises moulds cooling in the blow side. The butterfly valve operating the flap is controlled by the machine timing and is not affected by the cooling air pressure thanks to its vertical rotation. The consistent performance and repeatability of the movement in any job condition is granted by the double action pneumatic actuator operating at standard low pressure air (2.1 bar / 30 PSI). For SG operation a larger upper support bracket is available in order to accommodate larger body diameter moulds....
