Overview
BinMaster's diaphragm switch is designed for use with free-flowing, dry granular or pelleted materials stored in bins, silos, or hoppers. It detects material levels and activates alerts when material contacts or moves away from the switch. The device can be connected to visual or audible alarms and is suitable for both non-hazardous and explosion-proof applications.
Specifications
The diaphragm switch operates by sensing material pressure against a switch, activating a micro switch connected to alarms or process controls. It is available in two models: BM45 for non-hazardous environments and BM65 for hazardous environments. Both models offer internal and external mounting options, with various diaphragm materials like neoprene and silicone to suit different conditions.
Materials and Construction
The switch is constructed with rugged materials, including neoprene, neoprene with nylon mesh, and silicone, each offering specific benefits such as abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, and temperature resilience. The BM45 and BM65 models feature a thicker diaphragm for heavier materials and low-level installations.
Applications
The diaphragm switch is suitable for a wide range of materials, including aggregates, alumina, dry ash, barley, cement, coal, corn, flour, gravel, lime, oats, peanuts, rice, salt, sand, soybeans, sugar beets, wheat, and wood products.
