Clamping unit principle Two small diameter cylinders displace the moving platen and the 4 locking columns to the fully closed position. The chock plate is driven behind the ends of the 4 locking columns and blocks the passage. (Position closed). The clamping cylinder transmits the clamping force to the mould via the chock plate bearing on the four locking columns. Rapid operation is assured by a par ticularly low oil volume requirement.
