Introduction
When conducting PCR reactions, it is crucial to prevent contamination from DNA. This requires thorough decontamination of the cabinet, reagents, and equipment. UV irradiation is an effective sterilizer, breaking down DNA sequences to prevent replication. UV exposure times range from 5 to 30 minutes. The Bigneat UV Sterilisation Cabinet and PCR Workstation utilize UV effectively, with the latter also providing sterile air and positive pressure to prevent contamination.

Materials of Construction
The fan housing and shelving are made of epoxy-coated steel, the support structure is anodised aluminium, windows are 10 mm thick acrylic, and the base tray is PVC.

Filtration
The workstation uses a HEPA filter system with a pre-filter efficiency of 90% to EFV grade EU7 and a HEPA filter efficiency of 99.997% for particulates as small as 0.3µm.

Technical Information & Specification
The cabinets require a 230V/50 Hz electrical supply. Options for a stand or mobile trolley are available. The PCR® process is patented by Hoffmann-La Roche Inc.
