Infrared Welding Machines for infrared welding of plastics
Open the catalog to page 1Infrared Welding The procedure Infrared welding is a procedure used along with hotplate welding. The joining faces of the moulded parts to be welded are heated without any contact using the infrared radiation from short-wave (glass tube infrared radiator) or medium-wave (metal foil radiator) radiator elements and subsequently welded by applying pressure. Standard infrared-surface radiator with an easy to change mask adapted to a welding zone geometry. The advantages are non-contact heating. Complex technical plastics with higher temperature resistance can be joined in a 2-stage process without...
Open the catalog to page 2every component and materials-specific requirement. Areas of application In principle, infrared welding is used if specific requirements are to be fulfilled, like e. g. • Welding of engineering plastics with high melting temperatures and low melting viscosity • Components in contacting procedure cause problems • There musn’t be any loose particles during welding (cleanliness) • Spatially moulded welding parts are to be welded Typical areas of application are the automotive sector “under-the-bonnet” (PA parts such as air intake manifolds, ventilation system components, reservoirs), automobile interiors...
