The Bettis Multiport Flow Selector is a specialized valve designed for selecting and diverting well fluids from multiple wells to a single test outlet or loop. It is widely used in oil, gas, and process applications, particularly suited for multiphase meters. The device supports up to eight flow lines and offers a compact, cost-effective solution for fluid selection and isolation.
Materials conform to ASME B16.34 and include options for standard, NACE, low temperature, and stainless steel trims. Key components such as body, bonnet, plug, seat ring, and seals are made from materials like A216-WCB, A351-LCC, A351-CF3M, PTFE seat inserts, and AFLAS O-rings to suit various service conditions.
The selector is available in multiple sizes and pressure classes (150 to 1500 ASME), with flange sizes ranging from 2x4 inches up to 6x16 inches. Typical weights range from approximately 193 kg to 1880 kg depending on size and rating. Performance data includes maximum shell pressure ratings, static and dynamic seat differential pressures, breakaway torque, and flow coefficients (Cv). Seat leakage meets ANSI/FCI 70-2 Class IV standards (≤0.01% Cv leakage).
The valve features a resilient seat insert with backup plates and O-ring seals, dual stem seals, and a stainless steel scraper to maintain seal integrity and reduce maintenance.
The MEC is a microprocessor-based controller designed to precisely position and monitor the Multiport Flow Selector rotor. It uses an absolute optical encoder for accurate rotor position tracking and memory retention without power. Communication protocols include ASCII and Modbus RTU via RS232 or RS485. The controller compensates for torque changes, supports disabling unused ports, and reduces installation wiring complexity.
The MEC supports input voltages from 48–240 VAC or 6–100 VDC with solid-state relays and transformers/regulators. The board operates at 8–30 VDC or 9–20 VAC with a maximum current of 0.5 A and includes lightning protection and conformal coating. Communication is at 9600 baud, 8-bit, no parity, 1 stop bit.
The product is ISO 9001 certified and available with various options including third-party certifications such as DNV. Emerson Process Management reserves the right to modify specifications and designs without notice.
Manufactured and supported by Bettis, part of Emerson Process Management, with offices in the USA, UK, Canada, France, and international sales offices in Canada, India, and Singapore.
