Yaskawa Magnetic Contactor HU-E series - 1

LOW-VOLTAGE CLAPPER TYPE MAGNETIC CONTACTORSTYPE HU-E Yaskawa low voltage clapper-type magnetic contactor Type HU is designed for operation on either DC or AC power supply. Electrically stable and mechanically rigid, this magnetic contactor is suitable for use under heavy service conditions. It is designed for surface mounting and provides easy access to any parts of the unit. In addition to a standard series of contactors, there are available modified products including those with normally closed contacts, and those with reversible mechanical interlocks. Select the types best suited to your application need. FEATURES Variety of Contact Arrangements Both main and auxiliary contacts may be converted from NO to NC or vice versa to suit any specific application. Greater Mechanical Withstandabillty under Heavy Duty The contactors are sturdily constructed of thoroughly inspected high quality components. The moving shaft is supported on a synthetic resin bearing which requires no lubrication, extending mechanical life. High Performance and Long Electrical Life All contactors are designed and engineered to surpass JEM performance standards, and assure long electrical life. Greater Environmental immunity The contactors are impervious to environmental hazards. They give successful operation, even in dusty atmospheres—no humming of the magnets and no changes in operating characteristics. Ease of Inspection and Maintenance The contactors permit easy access to their components and parts from the front for inspection and maintenance. * Japan Electrical Manufacturers' Association.

Table 3 Ratings and Specifications of Auxiliary Contacts * The contactors are housed in enclosure and used for non-reversing and reversing operations (FORWARD-STOP-REVERSE) of motors starting at approximately 650% rated thermal current. Operations not including jogging, t The motor is reversed before it is completely stopped. # Inching constitutes 50% of operation (electrical life of 500,000 operations, specified JEM Class l)or greater. Where contactor life reduction is permissible, the motor kW rating may be increased to the level given under ordinary operation.

Table 6 Wound-Rotor Induction Motors Notes i 1. The maximum motor kilowatt ratings are for the motors specified by JEM 1202 "Totally-enclosed Fan-cooled Low Voltage Three Phase Wound-rotor Induction Motors for Crane Use." 2. The asterisked values are for intermittent operation of motors with 130% rated thermal current, specified by NEMA standards. 3. For acceleration and secondary short-circuit of heavy lood crane motors, use Type HU-433 E, -453E, and -463E. 4. Common protector box • Parenthesized values indicate total motor kilowatt ratings. • The contactor current capacity is determined...

MOUNTING DIMENSIONS The contactors may be installed in the enclosure, or on the panel. Dimensional details for their mounting are given below. When the contactors are mounted on two parallel beams of the panel, the distance between beams is important. The listed dimensions are applicable to the contactors used for the operation of squirrel-cage induction motors including inching, and plugging, or overloaded (above 200 %) operation of DC motors. The beam distance may be reduced where the contactors are used for secondary acceleration and running of wound-rotor motor, or overloaded operation...
