smartPoint T/W (Temperature/Ext. cable 100 cm) PRODUCT DATA SHEET How it works smartPoints are wireless data loggers that provide fully automated data collection of temperature or combined temperature and humidity conditions, eliminating manual activities and significantly improving process efficiency. smartPoints automatically indicate when thresholds are about to be exceeded, enabling pro-active intervention during transportation. berlinger smartview Data transmission smartPoints wirelessly communicate with a wireless network consisting of a smartGate and smartRouters that extend the range of the communication. In range of a wireless network, smartPoints provide real-time information. Outside a wireless network, smartPoints log their measurements, and automatically download this log upon arrival in a wireless network. From the smartGate, the sensor measurements are securely communicated to the central berlinger smartview® web application. This provides an integrated real-time view on shipments and storage facilities. Deployment smartPoints are small, battery-operated, intelligent wireless sensing devices with 2 MB on board data storage, advanced logging & flushing technology, and low energy consumption. smartPoints have an accurate internal temperature sensor, a magnetic reed switch for triggering behaviour, and a LED for visual inspection. smartPoints are also available as dual sensor with temperature and humidity sensor. Both sensors can be calibrated based on ISO/IEC 17025 standards. Usability The smartPoint T/W combines both an internal and an external temperature sensor. As a result, the smartPoint T/W is well-suited to measure the core temperature of produce, or measure temperature in otherwise radio-unfriendly environments. Temperature is an important aspect e.g. for proving HACCP compliance, and with its temperature monitoring performance, the smartPoint can be used for typical situations where EN12830 compliance is required. smartPoints can be applied in many different application scenarios, but are ideally suited for cold chain solutions as they are EN12830 (Class 1, D, Transportation) compliant. Within the cold chain it can function as a static monitoring sensor by simply attaching it to a wall, or as a wireless data logger.
