smartPoint T/ERS (Temperature / Ext. reed sensor) PRODUCT DATA SHEET Model: SL-SP-T/ERS How it works smartPoints are wireless data loggers that provide fully automated data collection of temperature or combined temperature and humidity conditions, eliminating manual activities and significantly improving process efficiency. smartPoints automatically indicate when thresholds are about to be exceeded, enabling pro-active intervention during transportation (depending on configuration). berlinger smartview Data transmission smartPoints wirelessly communicate with a wireless network consisting of a smartGate and smartRouters that extend the range of the communication. Logging and Flushing In range of a wireless network, smartPoints provide real-time information. Outside a wireless network, smartPoints log their measurements, and automatically download this log upon arrival in a wireless network. From the smartGate, the sensor measurements are securely communicated to the central berlinger smartview® web application. This provides an integrated real-time view on shipments and storage facilities. Deployment smartPoints are small, battery-operated, intelligent wireless sensing devices with 2MB on board data storage, advanced logging & flushing technology, and low energy consumption. smartPoints have an accurate internal temperature sensor, a magnetic reed switch for triggering behaviour, and a LED for visual inspection. smartPoints are also available as dual sensor with temperature and humidity sensor. Both sensors can be calibrated based on ISO/IEC 17025 standards. External Reed Sensors (ERS) The ability to monitor and identify certain events related to proximity of objects has long been a valuable source of information. Traditionally and most commonly known, to monitor open / close events of doors and windows in security applications, the sensor has also played a role with determining the presence of certain objects, enabling anti-theft applications. Application The device is ideally suited to monitor the opening and closing of doors that give access to refrigerated areas.
