Series J Shaft Mounted Gearbox

Product catalog summary
General Description
Series J Shaft Mounted Speed Reducers are designed for industrial applications, offering high efficiency, durability, and ease of installation. They feature a compact design, low noise levels, and versatile mounting options, with a robust cast iron housing.
Unit Designations
Customizable options include cooling, input shaft types, mounting positions, paint, seal options, and additional features to suit specific applications.
Selection Procedure
The selection involves assessing power or torque needs, choosing the appropriate service factor, and ensuring mechanical and thermal ratings align with application requirements, considering factors like temperature and operation time.
Power Ratings
Power ratings are specified for single and double reduction units, with attention to output speeds and pulley sizes. Thermal ratings are crucial to prevent overheating.
Accessories
Available accessories include threaded holes, shaft bushings, motor mounts, cooling options, and protection covers, enhancing gearbox functionality.
ATEX Compliance
The gearboxes meet ATEX Directive standards for use in explosive atmospheres, ensuring safety and compliance.
Specifications
Models such as J11, J21, J31, and others are detailed with size ratios, dimensions, and weights. Tables provide precise measurements for components like input shafts and shaft sleeves.
Procedures and Recommendations
Recommendations include positioning V-belt pulleys close to the housing to avoid bearing overload and mounting reducers on shafts with specified tolerances. Closer tolerances are advised for heavy-duty applications.
Standards and Tolerances
ISO standards for tolerances, including ISO H7, E9, js6, m6, and h9, are referenced to ensure precision in manufacturing and assembly.
Notes
Emphasis is placed on adhering to specified dimensions to prevent deviations, particularly for non-machined parts. Space considerations for spacers and locking rings are also highlighted.
Critical Information
Using minimum diameters for driven pulleys is crucial to prevent overloading, and following ISO standards for tolerances ensures proper function and longevity of the gear reducers.
Contact Information Summary
Contact details for Radicon Transmission UK Ltd and Radicon Drive Systems, Inc. in the USA are provided, along with international contacts for Benzlers and Radicon in various countries.

SERIES J SELECTION PROCEDURE Definition of service factor The torque ratings apply to service factor fb = 1.0. The service factor fb = 1.0 gives continual operation 4 to 8 hours a day at a uniform load without shocks and with 10 to 200 starts an hour. The moment of inertia of the driven machines is less than 20 % of the electric motor inertia and occasional peak torque may not exceed 1.8 times the torque rating. For other running conditions compensate with service factors according to tables. Mechanical Rating Determine the demand of power (Pe kW) or torque (Te Nm) and speed (ne min -1 ) to the...

Please note: Dimensions R, T, T1, T2, T3 are not machined, deviations can occur. 1. The V-belt pulley should be placed as close to the housing as possible. 2. These dimensions are minimum diameters of driven pulley to prevent overloading of the bearings. 5. The reducer should normally be mounted on a shaftwith tolerance ISO js6. On heavy duty applications closer tolerances are recommended. 8. Space for spacer if locking ring is used.
