Functionality
The converters use Mosfet transistors to convert DC input to high-frequency AC, providing galvanic isolation and the required output voltage through a transformer. High-speed diodes are used for rectification, and a special choke reduces output voltage ripple to ≤ 1% pk to pk. A microprocessor sub-assembly controls and monitors the system, with an interface for remote communication.

Applications
These converters are used in power stations and substations for decentralized control systems. Redundancy is achieved by connecting multiple converters in parallel, each with a diode to prevent fault feedback. A capacitor bank can be added to increase short circuit current, and the system is housed in a steel cabinet with optional monitoring features.
