Product Description:

The LINETRAXX® VMD421H is a multi-functional voltage relay designed for monitoring frequency, undervoltage, and overvoltage in 3(N)AC systems. It measures voltages as r.m.s. values and displays them on an LC display. The device can store measured values required to trigger alarms and is equipped with adjustable response times to accommodate installation-specific characteristics.

Typical Applications:

Monitoring voltage-sensitive machines and electrical installations.
Switching machinery on and off at specific voltage levels.
Monitoring stand-by and emergency supply systems.
Protecting three-phase motors against phase failure.

Functionality:

Upon applying supply voltage, a start-up delay begins. The device features two adjustable measuring channels for overvoltage and undervoltage. Alarm relays switch based on response values, with adjustable delays for response and release times. Fault memory can be activated to retain alarm parameters even during power failures.

Energy Backup:

In the event of a complete power failure, delay times remain effective during the energy backup period. Alarm parameters are stored if the fault memory is set to continuous mode.

Preset Function:

Automatically sets response values for overvoltage and undervoltage upon initial connection. If no nominal system voltage is detected, manual setting is required.

Technical Data:

Insulation coordination according to IEC 60664-1/IEC 60664-3 with a rated insulation voltage of 400 V.
Measuring range for AC (L-N) is 0…288 V and for AC (L-L) is 0…500 V.
Response values for undervoltage and overvoltage are adjustable, with factory settings provided.
Operating temperature range is -25…+55 °C, with EMC compliance according to IEC 61326-1.

Connection and Mounting:

Push-wire terminals for connection, suitable for various wire types and sizes.
Mounting options include vertical positioning and DIN rail mounting according to IEC 60715.
