General Overview
The DG184 series covers a range of alternators with ratings from 5kVA to 1386kVA, suitable for industrial, marine, commercial, construction, mining, and telecommunications applications, both for prime and standby power generation.

Specifications
The alternators are available in both single-bearing and double-bearing constructions. They comply with international standards such as IEC60034-1/60034-2, BS4990 & 5000, VDE0530, NEMA MG1-2006, and CSA C/UL. They are ISO 2000 and CE certified.

Mechanical Features
Single-bearing alternators use SAE flange adaptors and disc couplings for alignment during assembly. Double-bearing alternators follow IMB34 standards and can be customized upon request. All alternators can operate in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions.

Electrical Features
The alternators allow for overloads of up to 50% for 2 minutes and can sustain 300% short circuit current for 10 seconds with an optional Permanent Magnet. They permit an unbalanced load of 25% rated current with less than 5% deviation in line voltage. The insulation system is class 'H' with vacuum pressure impregnation.

Performance and Interference
The stator is wound to a 2/3 pitch to eliminate harmonics, ensuring a stable supply for non-linear loads. Telephone interference factors are better than 2% as per BS4999 Part 40 and better than 50 as per ASAC50.12. The alternators are equipped with interference suppression grade N to VDE 0875.

Accessories and Options
Available options include a droop kit for reactive current sharing, remote voltage potentiometer, PT100 thermal protection, anti-condensation heaters, IP23 protection, special treatments for corrosive environments, a Permanent Magnet, and a control panel with an LCD digital meter.

Environmental Considerations
All ratings are based on a 40°C ambient temperature at 1000m altitude. Performance decreases with higher altitudes, with specific percentages provided for altitudes up to 3500m. The power factor is considered at cos. Phi < 0.8, with adjustments for different power factors.
