InduBox GPRS (IB GPRS) - 1

Open Communication Devices for the M2M market Intelligent GPRS device with l/O's and embedded IP Automated industrial data communication over a GSM network, who wouldn't want it ? Low installation cost, mobility, fast roll out, ... are just some of the advantages. Need high speed data transfers or using real time TCP/IP orientated applications (sockets), then the Indubox GPRS is the most suitable for you! A GPRS connection can normally only be used if the DTE has TCP/IP capability. Thanks to the embedded TCP/IP and the implementation of a 'Communication Control' Processor the Indubox GPRS is capable of opening/closing and maintaining a GPRS connection completely independent from the DTE. Once it has opened a GPRS connection the DTE can transmit and receive predefined data with a host system. The 'Communication Control' Processor can monitor the whole communication process and also the 4 I/O lines; it will perform the necessary action when input changes are detected or when data is received to change output pins. In general, information (serial data and/or input/output lines) can be transmitted/received via a TCP/IP socket, e-mail, FTP, SMS or normal GSM data to and from remote host systems. The software for this 'Communication Control' processor will be written for 100% according to customer applications and specifications. The Indubox GPRS is implemented in a robust, non-flammable housing: the transparent cover as well as the connector cover can be sealed to secure the power, DTE and antenna connection and guard the SIM card against unauthorized removal. The Indubox GPRS can offer different power supply options accepting a wide range of ac (90-264) and dc (10-60 Vdc) voltages. Moreover, besides RS-232 serial communication, other options are designed or already available like RS-422, RS-485 or 20 mA current loop. Very important also is the long-term watchdog circuit with up to four different reset periodes (+/-1,6, 12 or 24 hour). Optional, the Indubox GPRS comes with an internal power back-up, allowing the device to continue working for a predetermined time when power fails. Typical Applications Remote reading of utility meters Vending machine monitoring Remote control Security alarms Measurement instruments Surveillance systems Sample Applications After I/O change, send a SMS message. After I/O change, automatically connect to the Internet & open socket to a host application. Receive SMS to change I/O & send back confirmation SMS. Receive SMS, automatically connect to the Internet, start socket server & send back confirmation SMS with actual IP-address, stream serial data. When power fails send SMS through power back-up.
