Product catalog summary
Electrical Data
The FPA-4 Flash Point Process Analyzer operates at a nominal voltage of 230 V AC ± 10%, with a maximum power consumption of approximately 500 W. It is classified under protection class IP 54 (NEMA 13). The operational ambient temperature ranges from +5 to +40 °C, while storage conditions allow for 0 to +60 °C. Humidity levels for operation are between 5 to 80% relative humidity, non-corrosive, and for storage, 5 to 85% relative humidity, non-corrosive.
Sample Requirements
The sample quality must be filtered to 50 µm, free of suspended water, bubble-free, with sulfur content less than 2000 ppm, and free of heavy metals and phosphate. Consumption is approximately 2 to 3 l/h at the sample inlet, with pressure requirements of 2 to 5 bar. The temperature at the inlet should be a minimum of 15 °C below the flash point and a maximum of +80 °C, with a temperature change not exceeding 1 K/min.
Utilities
Instrument air consumption is 8 Nm³/h during purging and approximately 1 Nm³/h during operation, with an inlet pressure of 2 to 7 bar. The coolant consumption varies depending on the flash point temperature, with sample as coolant requiring 30 to 60 l/h or plant cooling water needing 10 to 40 l/h. The temperature range for coolant is +5 to +40 °C, with an inlet pressure of 2 to 5 bar.
Signal Outputs and Inputs
The analyzer provides analog outputs for flash point temperature and digital outputs for alarm and readiness. It accepts digital inputs for stream selection, validation request, and reset. The electrical data for signal outputs and inputs include analog outputs of max. 8 (4 to 20 mA; 1000 Ω) and digital outputs of 24 V DC; max. 0.5 A.
Control Unit
The central control unit is an industrial PC running Windows Embedded Standard 7® with PACS control software. User interfaces include a TFT display with touch function and a virtual keyboard.
Connections and Dimensions
Tube fittings are available in Swagelok® 6 mm/12 mm/18 mm, with other fittings on request. The analyzer weighs approximately 200 kg and measures 1140 x 2000 x 710 mm, requiring 200 mm of space on each side.
Optional Interfaces
Optional interfaces include MODBUS/RTU via RS485 or RS422, MODBUS/TCP via FOC, and remote access via Ethernet.
Technical Data
The technology used is continuous measurement using catalytic combustion, correlating with standards such as ASTM D56, ASTM D93, and DIN EN ISO 2719. The measuring range is 25 to 180 °C, with repeatability and reproducibility adhering to DIN EN/ASTM standards.
Important Notice
The FPA-4 is subject to continuous product improvement, and specifications may change without notice. For technical clarification, contact the manufacturer.
