Product catalog summary
Introduction
This manual provides essential guidance for the installation, operation, and maintenance of Bardiani Valvole's pneumatic valves with diaphragms. It is crucial for qualified technicians to review this document before handling the valves. Updates are available on the manufacturer's website.
1. Safety, Warning, and Mandatory Signs
The manual details various warning signs, including risks of personal injury, hand crushing, heavy loads, severe burns, and explosions. Operators must use protective gloves, hard hats, safety footwear, and suitable clothing. Only skilled personnel should perform dismantling and maintenance operations.
2. General Safety Warnings
The valves are designed exclusively for moving fluids and should not be used for other purposes. They must not be used in explosive or fire-risk environments unless specified by the manufacturer. Bardiani Valvole disclaims liability for improper use.
3. Technical Data
The valves operate at a maximum pressure of 10 bar and are made from AISI 316L material. They are compatible with various gasket materials, and the pneumatic actuator requires specific air pressure and quality.
4. Checking / Unpacking / Lifting
Upon receipt, check the valve for transport damage and ensure it matches the order. Lift the valve carefully, considering its size and weight, to avoid injury or damage.
5. Installation
Installation should be performed by experts, ensuring correct air pressure and power supply. The valve should be installed to minimize stress from vibrations, thermal expansion, and excessive welding. Proper flow direction is crucial to avoid water hammer.
6. Operation
Before operation, inspect the valve by supplying air and powering it to ensure it functions correctly. Be cautious of hand crushing hazards during operation.
7. Troubleshooting
Common issues include external leaks and difficulty in opening/closing, often due to worn gaskets, excessive pressure, or incorrect elastomer types. Solutions involve replacing gaskets or adjusting operating conditions.
8. Cleaning
The system containing the valve should be cleaned with appropriate detergents to maintain functionality.
Specifications and Safety Instructions
Follow detergent concentration values and manufacturer's instructions. Use protective safety glasses and gloves. Ensure accurate dosing of detergents and thorough rinsing with clean water. Check valve material compatibility and be cautious of burns from hot valves and piping.
Cleaning Procedures
Perform an internal washing cycle before using new or serviced valves for food liquids. If welding has occurred, conduct passivation treatment. An example CIP cycle includes initial rinse with chlorine-free water, washing with caustic soda at 70°C, intermediate rinse, washing with nitric acid at 70°C, and end rinse.
Disposal Instructions
Recycle the device according to local legislation. Handle hazardous residues appropriately. Follow specific steps for valve disconnection and refer to maintenance guidelines.
Maintenance Guidelines
Maintenance should be performed by expert technicians with all utilities disconnected. Discharge fluid pressure before disassembly. Use original spare parts for replacements. Scheduled maintenance includes replacing valve gaskets after 12 months and actuator gaskets after 24 months.
Disassembly and Assembly Instructions
Detailed steps for disassembly and assembly of various valve models (BBWP1, BBWT1) are provided. Caution against touching moving parts when actuators are supplied with compressed air.
Warranty Information
Products are warranted against defects for 12 months from delivery. Warranty covers repair or replacement of defective parts. Exclusions include elastomers, electrical components, and faults due to improper handling or unauthorized repairs.
