The feeler gauges are designed to measure clearances in various fields, e.g. in motor building, for adjustment of valve clearances, bearing radial clearances as well as during the alignment works (to detect the misalignment of half-couplings or determine a «soft foot» type). The sets of the precision feeler gauges BALTECH FG Series are delivered in length 75mm, 100mm, 150mm, 200mm, 300mm, 500mm, 1000mm. We can supply you with straps in thickness from 0.01 up to 2.0 mm to produce the feeler gauges. Upon your request we can make the feeler gauges of one thickness with the holder. The feeler gauges can have a cylindrical or conical shape. The feeler gauges are used to measure clearances between planes or generators of deflected position. The measuring gauges are intended to measure small distances (a bit thicker than a sheet of paper). The feeler gauge can be flat or V-shaped. The feeler gauges can be produced as sets of shims of different thickness with a holder. The gauges are used separately or in different combinations. The measurements are conducted based on the principle «is inserted- is not inserted». The gauges are inserted one by one into a measuring clearance till one of the gauges is almost inserted and the next one cannot be inserted. The V-shaped feeler gauge is carefully moved to a clearance till it stops after which a thickness specified on the gauge is recorded.
